Choosing the right photos makes a real difference in how your photo magnet display turns out. Displays like LOVE, BABY, the Square Frame, and the Holiday Keepsake show all four 2″ × 2″ photo magnets at once, while Memory Cubes rotate through one magnet at a time and still include all four with the cube. Either way, picking four photos that work well together is worth a little thought. Here's how.
Start With the Story You Want to Tell
Before scrolling through your camera roll, think about what the display is for. A LOVE display might tell the story of a couple's relationship, from an early date to a wedding day. A BABY display might follow a baby's first year. Picking a theme first makes it much easier to narrow down favorites.
Tips for Choosing Your Four Photos
📷 Mix close-ups and group shots. A close-up face shot reads clearly at 2″ × 2″, while a group or wide shot adds context and variety.
📷 Choose well-lit, in-focus photos. Since each magnet is small, sharp and bright photos display far more clearly than dark or blurry ones.
📷 Center the subject. Photos where the main subject is centered crop best to a square.
📷 Mix old and new. Pairing a favorite older photo with a recent one adds a nice sense of time passing.
📷 Avoid busy backgrounds. Simple backgrounds keep the focus on the people and moments that matter.
Uploading Your Photos
When you're ready to order, you'll upload your photos before checkout using the photo upload tool on the product page. Most displays accept 1–4 photos, while the Personalized 2×2 Photo Magnet Sets allow up to 45 for larger collections. If you'd like help deciding, feel free to reach out through Custom Displays.
Refresh It Anytime
One of the best parts of a photo magnet display is that your four photos aren't permanent. As new milestones happen, you can always swap in new favorites, so it's worth revisiting these tips every time you're ready for an update.
